Bringing quality traffic to your Web site starts with successful strategies for getting the word out, and one of the simplest ways to do that is through e-mail. People look forward to receiving interesting mail, and will still open email when the message is compelling. Here are a few great e-mail tactics for building traffic to your Web site.

1. Include a P.S. Message after every signature in your day-to-day emails you send to people. This is often forgotten, but a great way to include a plug for you and your Web site with every message you send out.

Most of the e-mail systems today have a tool available that allows you to pre-set a message so that it always appears when you send an e-mail message. Keep the note friendly and make sure it gives some new information about a service or product you offer. Finish the message up with a link to your Web site or the specific offer page so that your readers can easily take advantage of your offer.

2. Send a Newsletter out. Believe it or not,, newsletter emails are still extremely popular and key to building Web site traffic. Your task is to make sure that your newsletter content is interesting enough that your readers will consistently open them. It is very simple to add an opt-in box to your site for people to subscribe to the newsletter.

Corresponding with your readers often is still one of the most valuable things you can do with your time to promote your Web site. It does take time and money to prepare the content, distribute the emails and maintain the newsletter, but your commitment to producing a great quality newsletter will pay off in very targeted traffic to your site.

3. Try Opt In E-Mail Lists. It is difficult to understand, but not all e-mails to folks you dont know is spam. Agreed, targeting e-mail to someone just because you have their e-mail address is not a great idea and you can get into some real trouble doing it. But there are systems out there who aggregate lists of email addresses for folks who have requested to receive emails on certain topics " use one of these lists and even though you may not have communicated with these folks before you can get a really good response to your campaign.

A search of any major search engine will deliver plenty of choices at varying costs where you can send e-mail messages to a high quality targeted list of folks interested in your business.

Now, realize you're probably not going to get much response to an ad that blatantly tries to sell something. But, these systems are great for getting traffic to a giveaway like a free white paper or e-course. If these giveaways give quality content, you will build a list of quality customers that can really pay off in the end.

E-mail is here to stay, and building traffic to your Web site using tried and true e-mail strategies continues to be one of the best ways of creating high lists of qualified prospects quickly. The techniques are simple and inexpensive to implement, and every successful Internet entrepreneur should use e-mail as part of their overall traffic building strategy.
