Panic Cure - Basic Advice On Reducing Panic And Anxiety

By James Holborn

It's very easy to fall into the routine where a fear governs your every move, especially in certain situations. For example, if you dislike crowded locations, you will eventually fall into the habit of avoiding these places, which will simply enforce your fear of such places, because there must be a reason you're continually avoiding it, right? Wrong, fear is governed by the subconscious and the natural instincts within every individual. However, in some, these wires get crossed and people grow irrational amounts of fear for the strangest things. On the other hand, there is sometimes a very small reason to feel some anxiety, but it gets blown out of proportion and can be very detrimental on the person's ability to function. A panic cure can help these people, but it requires a great deal of willpower and dedication from the person to try and better their fear.

Exercises

By identifying your fears, it's possible to begin to understand them and why you're so anxious about experiencing such things. Flying is a common source of anxiety in many people, usually because it combines a number of possible problems. The first is usually vertigo, which is something that occurs when a person is very high up and is akin to the fear of heights. Some other fears include the aircraft failing mechanically and fears about leaving your home region.

Upon understanding exactly what your fear is, you can begin to address it. By understanding that you have very little to fear, if anything, then you can convince your conscious mind to find logical closure. For example, aircraft failure occurs about as much as you win the lottery; you never have and likely never will. The vertigo is a little harder and we'll deal with that a little later.

If you find it's totally impossible to deal with, then try to ignore the height and simply never look out. It's a matter of finding out what works for you. From here, employ the most effective strategy

Once your conscious mind is in check and the problem is identified, it's a case of helping your subconscious deal with the problem. Unfortunately, this is much more difficult as it's made up of natural instincts. One of the most common ways of defeating this fear is by confronting it and putting yourself into situations where this fear is most abundant. However, start small if you can, then build you way up to beating it. If you find anxiety building up, take a moment aside for 30 seconds, breathing deeply until you're calm again.

Psychologists can help a lot more, as they can aid you in most of the steps towards beating anxiety, such as identifying the problem. They can also provide additional resources, such as subliminal audio CDs, which help convince your subconscious that everything is fine and there's nothing to worry about. General purpose versions of these CDs are available across the Internet.
